What is EIAS?

The ERAS® Interactive Audit System (EIAS) has been developed by Encare based on the published guidelines for best practice from the ERAS® Society. It is an interactive, user-friendly interface for collection, documentation, and follow up on critical performance and quality parameters as outlined by leading clinical experts in respective ERAS® Protocols. The data collected in EIAS is interactive and offers immediate feedback generating significant and sustainable improvement of efficiency and quality of care as well as generating substantial cost savings. The data collected and registered into EIAS is analyzed and reports are made available at once to offer immediate feedback on significant and sustainable improvement of efficiency and quality of care resulting in substantial cost savings. The EIAS allows hospital staff to track adherence to the ERAS® Society published guidelines as well as analyze the connection between compliance and outcomes to continuously improve the care process in the hospital before, during, and after surgery. Further, the EIAS is a web-based data entry and analysis system – no software installation needed. It is used to facilitate implementation of and monitor compliance to the ERAS® Protocols. This tool is a quality and decision support system and ensures that compliance to the ERAS® Protocols, once implemented, is upheld, and gives immediate feedback regarding any deviation from best practice. Furthermore, this allows the team to take advantage of the benefits of the ERAS® Protocols in terms of reduction in patient recovery time, rate of complications, and improvement in the quality of care. By continuous follow-up, analysis, adjustments, and improvements, the perioperative team and its management will not only ensure improved quality of care for the patient but also improved motivation of the staff involved through their increased understanding and developed engagement in the perioperative care process. Watch the below video for an overview of the EIAS system.
